This has been one of my favourite things ever. It’s super nutritious, healthy, easy prepared and extremely yummy! It’s basically just a snack idea and not a recipe ( the recipe for my homemade chia jam is included though ). I hope you enjoy it anyway 🙂
Recipe (for 1 pers.)
- 1 bagel ( whole-grain)
- raw peanut butter ( 100% peanuts)
- 1 banana
For the homemade strawberry-chia jam:
- 3-4 frozen strawberries
- 1-2 tsp chia seeds
→ you can also use regular jam, but this homemade version is completely natural and totally worth to spent 2 minutes longer on your breakfast 😉
Start with the jam! You can either use the microwave or the stove.
- Heat up the strawberries until they are soft and you can mash them with a fork. It shouldn’t take more than 5 min ( in the microwave max. 3 min)
- Add the chia seeds and let it rest for a few minutes. The Chia seeds absorb the extra water in the cooked strawberries and the mixture gets thicker like jam
- Now, all you need to do is to build your bagel! I started with a layer of peanut butter, then I sliced the banana in small pieces and stuck them on the nut butter. For the next layer I added the jam and last but not least I did another layer of peanut butter.
